Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility have become transversal elements present in each of our steps. Find out about the partnerships and certifications that reinforce our commitment.

Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC)

In 2022 Mayoral joined the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), the international alliance for sustainable production in the textile, footwear and apparel industry. Likewise, the Higg Index tool, developed by the SAC, helps to calculate and qualify the social and environmental sustainability performance of the company and its products, in order to draw up a roadmap for continuous improvement in each process of the value chain. Likewise, in 2023 Mayoral is moving forward in forming part of more alliances that work for sustainability in fashion manufacturing.

Consejo de Administración Forestal o Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)

We use FSC-certified paper from responsible sources in our catalogues, shop bags and on our garment labels. The Forest Stewardship Council is a non-governmental organisation that "promotes environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world's forests".

Accredited Laboratories

Mayoral garments are subjected to strict controls and analyses that evaluate the presence of chemical substances harmful to health or the environment, as well as the safety of trimmings and other accessories. These analyses are carried out by accredited laboratories in accordance with the ISO/IEC 17025 standard. In addition, recently, tests have begun to examine fabrics declared organic in order to verify that they do not contain pesticides, insecticides or fertilisers and that their seeds have not been genetically modified.

Environmental Audits

We have launched a programme of environmental audits to improve sustainability and environmental impact in the supply chain. The assessments are carried out by external companies certified by the international Sustainable Apparel Coalition alliance, and focus on reducing energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and water consumption, as well as proper wastewater disposal, waste management and chemical handling.
